Theatrical Director
I am an experienced Theatrical Director who has for several years directed shows in the South Wales area. I strive to produce exciting inclusive and immersive theatre that challenges both the performers and the audience and most of all tells a story and creates a great night out
Below are some of these productions
For Neath little theatre in 2016. A production of Arnold Ridleys classic Comendy drama the ghost train . Staged totally sepia to mimic a silent film of that era.
“Owen inspires his cast to share his vision in creating work of a high standard. His direction is inclusive and supportive and there is always a positive working Atmosphere “ - Jane Cummings. Actor - oh what a lovely war , The Ghost train. and Dracula.
To commemorate the centenary of the end of the First World War I directed a production of” Oh What a Lovely War “ for Swansea Little Theatre. This was a hugely successful show featuring a large and talented cast.
“ Owen isn’t just a Director, he’s a selfless, born leader with a passion to move people . He’s the kind of theatre- maker people willingly follow, are eager to work with, give their best for. He knows how to assemble a production dream team ,and creates a performance expereince that lives long in the hearts of cast crew and audiences alike “ - Cal Heath - Playright - “ My last lines on earth”
2019 saw me return to Fall Vale station but this time with Swansea Little Theatre. Another successful production of The Ghost train
"Owen's directing style is collaborative and inclusive. An actor himself, Owen understands how to inspire and bring out the very best in everyone involved in his projects with his boundless energy and great ideas. Owen draws on his talents as a storyteller to bring memorable productions to the stage. For Swansea Little Theatre, Owen directed Oh! What a Lovely War in 2018, evoking the futility and poignancy of the losses from WWI. He staged a wonderfully rich and nuanced production of The Ghost Train in 2019 and in 2023, he brought a dark and haunting version of Dracula to the stage. Owen has inspired several amateur actors to follow their own professional careers. It has always been a richly rewarding and unforgettable experience working with Owen and I can't wait until the next time!.- Alison Saunders - Actor. Oh what a lovely War, The Ghost Train and Dracula
In the midst of the Pandemic I directed an all female production of the classic Sherlock Holmes mystery “ The Hound of the Baskervilles “
“I thoroughly enjoyed Owen directing me in the groundbreaking all-female production of the Hound of the Baskervilles. He was the most supportive director throughout the rehearsal process and open to any ideas I or the rest of the cast had. I am still so proud of this production several years later and see it as one of my best opportunities for a role. Looking forward to working with him in the future “. Cate Harvey, Actor - The Hound of the Baskervilles and the Ghost train
Early 2023 saw me back at Swansea little theatre directing a Production of Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Inclusive and emotive production which recieved rave reviews and great audiences.
“ Owen is great to work with as a theatre director. I have been in two productions of his and it was a huge pleasure to see his vision and his attention to detail.” - Richard Fowler - Actor, The Ghost Train and Dracula.
